NDA Presidential election candidate Droupadi Murmu files her nomination
PM Modi-led NDA's Presidential election candidate Droupadi Murmu files her nomination in the presence of PM Modi, Union cabinet ministers & also CMs of BJP & NDA ruled states.
It was a massive show of strength by the NDA today as Droupadi Murmu filed her nomination papers in the Parliament for the post of next President of India with PM Narendra Modi by her side. PM Modi had proposed her name for the nomination, which was seconded by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.
Droupadi Murmu filed her nomination for the July 18 presidential polls with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, union home minister Amit Shah, defence minister Rajnath Singh, BJP president JP Nadda, other cabinet ministers including Nitin Gadkari along with chief ministers of some BJP-ruled states and leaders of NDA-supporting parties were present.
As per sources, NDA's Presidential election candidate Droupadi Murmu speaks with Congress interim-President Sonia Gandhi, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee & NCP chief Sharad Pawar seeking their party's support for her candidature in the Presidential election.
Murmu, a Santhali tribe leader, served as the Jharkhand governor between 2015 and 2021. Her name was announced by BJP president JP Nadda on Tuesday after he attended the party's parliamentary board meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
